Navigating special education can feel overwhelming. Between evaluations, eligibility meetings, IEPs, progress reports, school communication, and planning for next steps, many families find themselves trying to learn an entirely new system while also supporting their child’s day-to-day needs.

That’s where I come in.

At Legacy Educational Support & Advocacy, I offer flexible, family-centered support for parents who need guidance navigating special education services. Every family’s situation is different, and support should reflect that. Some families need full advocacy and ongoing support throughout the process. Others simply need a second set of eyes, help preparing for one important meeting, or someone to explain what all of the paperwork actually means.

My goal is to make special education support approachable, practical, and accessible for families at every level.

Full-Service Special Education Advocacy

Some families are looking for someone to walk beside them through the entire process. In these cases, I can provide comprehensive advocacy support from start to finish.

This may include:

  • Reviewing records and educational history

  • Attending school meetings with you

  • Helping you understand evaluations and eligibility decisions

  • Supporting IEP development and service recommendations

  • Assisting with communication and next steps

  • Helping ensure your concerns are heard and addressed

For families who want more hands-on support, this option offers ongoing guidance, organization, and advocacy throughout the process.

IEP Review and Feedback

Not every family needs full advocacy support. Sometimes, you simply need help understanding what’s already in front of you.

I offer IEP review services for families who want:

  • A clear summary of their child’s IEP

  • Feedback on strengths and areas of concern

  • Suggestions for questions to ask

  • Recommendations for supports, services, or revisions

  • Help understanding whether the plan is appropriate and meaningful

This is a great option for families who want professional insight without committing to ongoing advocacy.

Meeting Preparation and Parent Support

School meetings can be stressful, especially when you’re trying to process information, advocate for your child, and respond in real time.

I help parents prepare for meetings so they can walk in feeling more confident, informed, and ready.

This support may include:

  • Reviewing the purpose of the meeting

  • Explaining what to expect

  • Identifying key concerns and priorities

  • Creating talking points or questions ahead of time

  • Helping parents feel prepared to participate effectively

Sometimes, having a plan going in makes all the difference.

Parent-School Communication Support

Communication between families and schools can be one of the most challenging parts of the process. Misunderstandings, unclear expectations, and unanswered questions can quickly create frustration on both sides.

I can help serve as a liaison between parents and schools by supporting clear, productive communication and helping families navigate difficult conversations with confidence and professionalism.

This may include:

  • Drafting or reviewing emails

  • Helping parents communicate concerns clearly

  • Organizing next steps after meetings

  • Supporting collaborative problem-solving

  • Helping families navigate communication when things feel stuck

The goal is always to keep communication productive, respectful, and focused on the student.

Flexible and Affordable Support

One of the biggest misconceptions about advocacy is that it has to be expensive or all-or-nothing. It doesn’t.

I believe families should be able to access meaningful support in a way that works for their needs and budget. Some families need ongoing advocacy. Others need a one-time review, a planning session, or support preparing for one meeting.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach here.

My services are designed to be flexible, practical, and accessible so families can get the level of support they need without feeling pressured into more than that.

Let’s Start with a Free Discovery Call

Finding the right support matters. Before working together, I offer a free discovery call so we can talk through your concerns, discuss what kind of support you’re looking for, and decide whether this feels like the right fit for both of us.

This is a no-pressure opportunity to ask questions, share what’s going on, and explore what support might look like.

Every child’s needs are different. Every family’s experience is different. The support you receive should reflect that.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to start, or simply looking for guidance, I’m here to help.
